Odesza Writing Music Video

For a segment of our music video we wanted the words Odesza to be drawn and it to be time lapsed so will not use up a lot of time during our video. We decided on Emma DLQ to do this as she takes art so it will look professional. We have been able to edit 20 minutes of real time footage into 25 seconds but we might times this by four to speed it up even more for a quick but still clear look.

Flashing effect

Myself and George had an idea for a transition between the chorus and the verse of where we could take a still image of the character in a dark room and use a flashing effect to go to the beat of the song. We thought of this after our shot list so we did not plan on doing this type of shot from the beginning. We wanted the character to stand out with his red jumper in an all black background. We tried to take a photo with him in a dark room however to see the character well you needed a flash on, however this therefore revealed the wall he was stood by. Therefore, we took a picture of the character in day light so it was in HD, and in Photoshop we made the background black. We feel as though this was the best alternative and it turned out very well. Jordan then edited short black outs to the picture to give it a flickering effect, after a long time of editing, it can be seen going to the beat of the music perfectly in the second half of the song.

George's Drone Flying Practice

This is a video of George flying his drone over some fields so we could get an idea of how the shot looked, if it was stable or not, in HD etc., and then if we wanted to include a shot from the drone in our final production. This if purely test footage and we have no intention adding this into the final production.

George and his Drone

Here is a photo of George getting used to his drone and flying it before he takes it out to film with tomorrow. Hopefully he will be able to get some good footage that we could replicate including the character or even use on its own as a transition or the beginning or end with credits.
